In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes that the sincere execution of one's own duties (Swadharma) is the ultimate form of penance. He argues that one does not need to perform external rituals or undergo physical hardships to reach a higher spiritual state; rather, being dedicated to one's responsibilities is sufficient.
