This means that once a person realizes their true identity as the eternal Self (Atman), the fruits and consequences of their past and present actions no longer bind them. They attain a state of pure existence, free from the cycle of cause and effect, established firmly in their divine nature.

In daily life, perform your duties without the ego of being the 'doer'. For example, if you help someone, do it as a service to humanity rather than expecting praise; this 'knowledge' keeps your mind free from the burden of expectations and karma.

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the concept of Jnana-Agni (the fire of knowledge) which destroys the bondage of karma.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes that doubt is the offspring of ignorance. Just as darkness creates illusions, ignorance creates doubts that take deep root in the human heart, leading to inaction and confusion. The only way to eliminate this is through 'Jnana' (Knowledge). By using the metaphorical 'Sword of Knowledge', one must uproot these doubts. Once the truth is realized, the mind becomes clear, and the individual can perform their worldly and spiritual duties with absolute conviction.

In professional or personal life, whenever you face indecision, do not let it linger. Seek facts, data, and wisdom (knowledge) to clear the confusion. For example, if you are unsure about a new project, research it thoroughly to gain the confidence to proceed.

Lord Krishna concludes the fourth chapter by advising Arjuna to destroy the paralyzing doubt born of ignorance using the sword of wisdom.

In professional life, focus on your specific role and excel in it rather than trying to mimic someone else's career path. For instance, an artist should focus on their creativity rather than forcing themselves into a corporate role that doesn't suit their nature.

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the necessity of following one's natural duty (Swadharma) as a means to attain liberation without exhaustion.
