It highlights the magnitude of the opposition Arjuna was facing, setting the stage for his internal conflict regarding fighting his own elders and teachers.

Before starting any major task, it is crucial to assess the strengths of the opposition or the magnitude of the obstacles. Example: A business leader analyzing the market competitors before launching a new product.

Sanjaya describes the Kaurava army to Dhritarashtra, highlighting the presence of great warriors like Bhishma and Drona as Arjuna observes them.

In this verse, Dnyaneshwar Maharaj clarifies that true renunciation (Sanyasa) is an internal state rather than a physical act of abandoning work. In daily life, when performing a task like a professional project or social service, do not let pride take over. Instead of thinking 'I achieved this,' view it as a service or duty. Example: A leader who gives credit to the team instead of taking it all for themselves is practicing the abandonment of 'Ahanta'.
