💡 Meaning

One who sees inaction in action and action in inaction is the truly wise person among men.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

In this verse, Dnyaneshwar Maharaj interprets the concept of seeing inaction in action. A realized soul understands that while the body and senses perform actions, the true Self (Atman) remains a non-doer. Conversely, a person who physically refrains from work but remains mentally attached to the fruits of action is still 'acting'. The one who transcends this duality is considered the most intelligent among men.

🎯 Practical Application

In a professional setting, if you complete your projects with full dedication but without the ego of being the sole achiever, you remain stress-free and balanced regardless of the outcome.

📌 Context

Shri Krishna explains the paradox of action and inaction to Arjuna, defining who a true sage is.

💡 Meaning

Therefore, whatever action is performed should be known as Brahman itself, for in that action, the Veda is directly manifest.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes that all righteous actions originate from the Supreme Brahman. Since the Vedas, which provide the blueprint for human conduct, emerged from the Imperishable Divine, any action performed in accordance with these principles is essentially an expression of the Divine. He suggests that a seeker should view their duties not as mundane tasks but as a manifestation of the ultimate reality, thereby transforming work into worship.

🎯 Practical Application

Approach your daily professional or personal tasks with the mindset that 'Work is Worship'. For example, a teacher educating students should view the act of teaching as a divine service to knowledge rather than just a means of livelihood.

📌 Context

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the divine origin of action and its inseparable connection to the Supreme Reality (Brahman) and the Vedas.

💡 Meaning

Therefore, a capable person should perform their duties exceptionally well, so that it becomes a visible and guiding path for the common people.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes the concept of 'Lokasangraha' or the welfare of the world. He argues that those who are capable, influential, or wise have a moral obligation to perform their duties with excellence. Since common people tend to imitate the actions of their leaders, any lapse in the conduct of the 'Samartha' (capable) could lead to social degradation. Therefore, to guide the 'Ajnyani' (ignorant) towards the right path, the wise must lead by example through their own righteous actions.

🎯 Practical Application

A team leader in a corporate setting should maintain high ethical standards and punctuality. When the team sees their leader's dedication, they are naturally inspired to follow the same discipline, creating a productive environment.

📌 Context

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the necessity of action for the wise to set an example for society.
