💡 Meaning

And O Arjuna, if you consider your own duty as a warrior, you will realize that there is nothing more appropriate for you than this righteous war.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains that one's inherent duty (Swadharma) is paramount. For a warrior, a righteous war is not a sin but a duty. He suggests that looking at the situation through the lens of duty removes confusion and provides a clear path of action. This verse bridges the gap between spiritual realization and worldly responsibility, emphasizing that fulfilling one's social role is a form of spiritual practice.

🎯 Practical Application

In professional life, one should stick to their ethics and responsibilities even when faced with emotional dilemmas. For instance, a doctor must treat a patient with full dedication, as it is their professional duty (Swadharma), regardless of the patient's background.

📌 Context

Lord Krishna addresses Arjuna's hesitation by appealing to his sense of duty as a warrior (Kshatriya).

💡 Meaning

Just as one discards old clothes and puts on new ones, the soul enters a new body after leaving the old one.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar provides a profound commentary on the nature of the soul. He uses the analogy of changing clothes to describe the process of death and rebirth. Just as a person discards old, tattered garments to wear new ones, the soul (Chaitanya) leaves a decayed physical body to inhabit a new one. This teaching aims to remove the fear of death by showing it as a natural transition rather than an end to existence.

🎯 Practical Application

This verse teaches us to accept the cycle of life and death with equanimity. Example: Just as we upgrade our software or hardware while the core data remains the same, the soul remains constant while the physical form changes.

📌 Context

Lord Krishna explains the concept of the soul's immortality to Arjuna by comparing the body to clothes.

💡 Meaning

🔍 Deep Interpretation

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes that true renunciation (Sannyasa) is the abandonment of the desire for the results of one's actions. He asserts that there is nothing more purifying in the entire universe than this state of detached wisdom. It is not merely a physical renunciation but a mental transformation that cleanses the soul of all impurities and attachments.

🎯 Practical Application

Apply this by focusing on the process of your work rather than the outcome. For instance, a professional should focus on providing the best service to a client without being obsessed with the profit, which leads to mental peace and excellence.

📌 Context

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the supreme purity of renouncing the fruits of action as taught by Krishna to Arjuna.
