In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar captures Krishna's direct command to Arjuna. Having established that the soul is immortal and the physical body is transient, Krishna tells Arjuna that his grief is logically unfounded. He advises Arjuna not to let his intellect be clouded by delusion or emotional attachment. By saying 'do not deceive your mind,' Krishna highlights how we often create excuses to avoid difficult duties. The ultimate instruction is to cast aside anxiety and stand up for the righteous cause.

In daily life, we often procrastinate or avoid responsibilities due to fear of failure. This verse teaches us to stop overthinking and focus on the task at hand. Example: Instead of worrying about the outcome of a project, focus entirely on executing it with integrity.

After explaining the eternal nature of the soul, Lord Krishna urges Arjuna to abandon his mental confusion and perform his duty as a warrior.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar describes the profound state of spiritual enlightenment. He explains that in the fire of knowledge, the 'stain' of mental resolutions and desires is washed away. The mind loses its dualistic and restless nature (manapan) and merges into the supreme consciousness. Even 'Avidya' (primordial ignorance), which is the root cause of worldly bondage, dissolves into the self. It represents the ultimate dissolution of the ego and the realization of oneness with the Divine.

In daily life, this teaches us the power of deep focus. For example, when a scientist or an artist is deeply engrossed in their work, their personal biases and distractions (resolves) vanish, leading to a pure discovery of truth or creation of beauty.

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the state of Samadhi or self-realization where the mind and ignorance dissolve into the supreme self.

In this verse, Dnyaneshwar Maharaj acknowledges the divine origin of all knowledge. He states that the entire 'Shabdabrahma' (the Vedas or the ultimate word) has manifested from the Supreme Reality or the Guru. He humbly suggests that his own intellect (mati) has received only a tiny drop (lesha) from that vast ocean of wisdom, which is enabling him to compose this great work. It highlights the Vedantic view that individual intelligence is merely a reflection of the Universal Intelligence.

Practice intellectual humility by recognizing that your talents and insights are part of a larger collective or divine wisdom. Example: When achieving a breakthrough at work, acknowledge the foundational knowledge provided by your mentors and predecessors.

In the introductory verses of Dnyaneshwari, Saint Dnyaneshwar pays homage to the source of all wisdom, attributing his poetic inspiration to the same divine source that created the Vedas.
