As long as one lacks true understanding or self-knowledge, doubts continue to grow and cloud the mind, hindering spiritual and worldly progress. However, the 'sword of discrimination' (Viveka) is the only tool capable of cutting through this ignorance. When a person applies logical reasoning and spiritual wisdom, doubt is destroyed at its very root, leading to clarity and peace.

In practical life, whenever you face uncertainty or lack of confidence, do not let it fester. Instead, use 'Viveka' (critical thinking and study) to understand the situation. Example: If you doubt your career path, researching and seeking mentorship (knowledge) will eliminate the confusion.

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the root cause of doubt and the method to eliminate it at the conclusion of the fourth chapter.

In this verse, Dnyaneshwar Maharaj interprets the essence of seeing Brahman in action. For a realized soul, the distinction between the ritual, the offering (Havi), and the objective disappears. The metaphor of 'Mushti' (fist) suggests that the entire creation is contained within and is identical to the ultimate reality, Brahman. This reflects the 'Brahmarpanam' concept from the Bhagavad Gita.

Practice seeing divinity in daily tasks. For example, while studying, if a student views their books and knowledge as a form of the Divine, their focus and respect for learning increase naturally.

Just as a mountain remains unmoved by the wind, a Sthitaprajna's intellect remains anchored in the Divine Self, regardless of external circumstances. This verse serves as a definition of spiritual maturity, where the mind ceases to wander among sensory objects and finds its eternal rest in inner consciousness.

In modern life, this can be applied by practicing mindfulness. For example, when faced with a sudden crisis at work, instead of reacting with panic or anger, one should strive to keep the mind 'Nishchal' (steady) to find the most effective solution.

In this part of the Dnyaneshwari, Saint Dnyaneshwar explains Lord Krishna's description of a 'Sthitaprajna'—a person who has attained stable wisdom and equanimity.
