Just as a blazing fire reduces wood to ashes regardless of its quantity or age, the 'fire of knowledge' (Jnana-agni) destroys the fruits and bondage of all past (Sanchit) and present (Kriyaman) actions. Once a person realizes their true nature as the eternal Atman, the ego-driven sense of 'doership' vanishes, rendering karma ineffective and leading to liberation.

In practical life, understanding the root cause of a problem (knowledge) eliminates the stress and confusion (bondage) associated with it. For example, once you learn the logic behind a complex task, the struggle and fear of failing at it disappear instantly.
