The 'bonds of karma' only exist as long as there is ignorance and doubt regarding one's true nature.

In professional life, when you work with absolute clarity of purpose and without internal conflict, the results do not cause mental stress. For example, a doctor who operates with full knowledge and focus is not burdened by the anxiety of the outcome, as they are established in their duty and knowledge.

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains how the realization of the Self dissolves the attachment to the fruits of action.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes the importance of 'Ucita Karma' (Appropriate Action). He advises that one should only engage in actions that are righteous and aligned with one's inherent duty (Swadharma). Performing such duties without attachment to the results is the path to achieving 'Parama Purushartha'—the supreme goal of human life, which is liberation or self-realization.

In professional life, an employee should focus on their core responsibilities with integrity. For example, a teacher's 'proper action' is to educate students sincerely. By fulfilling this duty, they contribute to society and achieve personal fulfillment.

Shri Krishna, through Saint Dnyaneshwar's commentary, explains to Arjuna that performing one's natural duty is the only way to attain spiritual perfection.

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains that doubts are like a suffocating net that entangles a person's intellect, and their root cause is always ignorance (Ajnan). To progress on any path—spiritual or material—one must wield the 'weapon of knowledge' (Jnana) to cut through these mental barriers. Only through clear understanding and self-realization can one achieve the mental clarity required for decisive action. The verse emphasizes that knowledge is not just information, but a tool for liberation from confusion.

In the concluding part of the fourth chapter, Lord Krishna (through Dnyaneshwar Maharaj's commentary) urges Arjuna to dispel the darkness of doubt with the light of knowledge.
