Conversely, if leaders falter, the social fabric degrades. Thus, one must act responsibly not just for oneself, but for the collective good.

In any organization, the culture is set by the top leadership. Example: If a CEO prioritizes transparency and honesty, the employees will naturally value and practice those same principles in their daily work.

Shri Krishna explains to Arjuna that a wise person must perform their duties because their actions serve as a blueprint for the rest of society.

Saint Dnyaneshwar illustrates Arjuna's profound realization that material prosperity is not a cure for spiritual distress. Arjuna acknowledges that the grief he feels is so intense that even the highest possible worldly or celestial achievements are futile against it. This highlights the limitation of material success in solving existential crises and points towards the necessity of spiritual wisdom.

Material success is not a substitute for mental peace. Example: A person might have a successful career but still feel empty inside if they haven't addressed their emotional well-being.

Arjuna explains to Krishna that material success, even lordship over gods, cannot heal his internal suffering.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes that true spiritual stability is achieved only when one masters their senses. Just as a tortoise withdraws its limbs into its shell for protection, a wise person withdraws their senses from worldly objects to prevent the mind from wandering. This internal discipline is the foundation of 'Sthitaprajna' (a person of steady wisdom). Without controlling the senses, the intellect remains scattered and cannot realize the ultimate truth.

In modern life, practicing digital detox or resisting the urge to react impulsively to criticism are practical ways to apply sense control for mental peace.

Lord Krishna explains to Arjuna that a person whose senses are under control is the one with stable wisdom.
