King Drupada, the five sons of Draupadi, and the valiant Abhimanyu (son of Subhadra and Arjuna) have joined the battlefield with their respective military divisions. This illustrates the collective strength and determination of the forces of righteousness (Dharma) gathered to face the challenge of the Kauravas.

In any major undertaking, the collective participation of skilled individuals is vital. For example, in a corporate project, the combined expertise of different team members leads to a successful outcome.

Saint Dnyaneshwar describes the gathering of the Pandava allies and their formidable warriors on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes the importance of sense control (Indriya-Nigraha). He argues that trying to control the mind directly is difficult, but controlling the senses leads to natural mental stability. He uses a powerful metaphor of a tree: if the root of a tree is destroyed or diseased, the entire tree eventually withers away. Similarly, the senses are the roots through which the mind feeds on worldly desires. By conquering the senses, the 'tree' of worldly attachment and mental restlessness naturally dries up, allowing the seeker to rest in the self.

To achieve focus in any task, first eliminate external distractions. For example, if you want to focus on work, keep your phone away. Once the sensory input from the phone is cut off, your mind will naturally settle into the task at hand without much effort.

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the method of achieving mental stability by controlling the senses using the metaphor of a tree.

In this verse, Dnyaneshwar Maharaj emphasizes the path of selfless action. He advises that an individual should only engage in actions that are 'Uchita' (appropriate to the situation) and 'Vihita' (prescribed as one's duty or Dharma). The performance of these actions should be of the highest quality ('Uttama'). However, the most crucial condition is 'Phalasha Sanduni'—the complete renunciation of the desire for the fruits of those actions. By focusing on the process rather than the result, one attains spiritual freedom and excellence in work.
