He is overwhelmed by the irony of having to fight those he loves and respects, marking the beginning of his 'Vishad' (despair) and the internal conflict between worldly attachment and moral duty.

For example, a manager might feel conflicted when they have to evaluate a close friend's performance strictly. Arjuna's state represents that initial shock of realizing the personal cost of doing one's duty.

If a leader becomes inactive, the society follows suit and falls into stagnation. Therefore, to guide the masses toward the path of righteousness, the 'Samartha' (capable ones) must lead by example.
