In this commentary on the Bhagavad Gita, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes that the conduct of influential individuals becomes the standard for society. Common people often lack the deep philosophical understanding to determine the right path, so they naturally emulate those they respect. This places a heavy moral responsibility on leaders, scholars, and elders. If they act with integrity and follow their duties (Dharma), the rest of society remains stable and righteous. Conversely, if leaders falter, the social fabric degrades. Thus, one must act responsibly not just for oneself, but for the collective good.

In any organization, the culture is set by the top leadership. Example: If a CEO prioritizes transparency and honesty, the employees will naturally value and practice those same principles in their daily work.

Shri Krishna explains to Arjuna that a wise person must perform their duties because their actions serve as a blueprint for the rest of society.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes that as long as one is bound by the physical body and the three Gunas (qualities) of nature, complete cessation of action is impossible. Even if one attempts to sit still, the mind, breath, and internal biological processes continue. Therefore, true liberation is not found in escaping physical work, but in performing one's duties without ego or attachment to results.

In daily life, we cannot run away from our responsibilities. For example, instead of quitting a job because it is stressful, one should learn to perform it with a balanced mind, understanding it as a necessary duty towards society and self.

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains Krishna's teaching that total cessation of action is impossible for any living being.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar interprets Krishna's call to action. He explains that Arjuna's anxiety is 'Zhakavili' (deluded), meaning it stems from a lack of true knowledge. By addressing him as 'Pandusuta', Krishna reminds Arjuna of his noble lineage and the expectations of a warrior. The command to 'pick up the bow' is a metaphor for overcoming mental paralysis and engaging in one's righteous duty (Dharma) without being attached to the emotional outcome.

When faced with a daunting task or a difficult situation, instead of overthinking or succumbing to fear, one should focus on the immediate action required. Example: A student feeling overwhelmed by exams should stop worrying about the results and start studying with determination.

Lord Krishna urges Arjuna to abandon his grief and stand up to perform his duty as a warrior.
