In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar illustrates the state of a realized soul. Just as all rivers flow into the ocean without disturbing its depth or causing it to overflow, all worldly desires and sensory inputs enter the mind of a wise person without causing any agitation. The desires lose their individual identity and merge into the vast ocean of the self. This signifies a state of absolute inner peace where external stimuli do not dictate internal happiness, as the person is already complete within.

In daily life, we are often distracted by various desires. Like the ocean, we should strive to remain steady. For example, a professional focused on a long-term goal remains unswayed by temporary setbacks or minor temptations.

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the equanimity of a wise person (Sthitaprajna) using the metaphor of the ocean receiving river waters.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar interprets Krishna's advice to Arjuna regarding the nature of true renunciation. Krishna warns Arjuna that simply walking away from the battlefield or his duties by convincing himself that he is seeking peace is a form of self-deception. True renunciation (Sannyasa) is an internal state of detachment, not a physical escape from responsibilities. Krishna urges Arjuna to be honest with his own conscience and not use 'Sannyasa' as an excuse to avoid the difficult task ahead of him.

One should not use spirituality as an escape route from worldly responsibilities. For instance, if a professional faces a challenge at work, quitting by claiming 'I am above material success' while actually being afraid of failure is deceiving the mind. One must face challenges with integrity.

Lord Krishna advises Arjuna not to abandon his duty by deceiving his own mind under the pretext of renunciation.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes the concept of 'Loksangraha' (the welfare and guidance of the world). He argues that the masses naturally follow the conduct of those they perceive as superior or leaders. If a leader like Arjuna were to abandon his duties, it would lead to social instability and mislead the common people. Therefore, for the sake of maintaining social order and guiding others toward the right path, one must perform their prescribed duties without attachment.

A leader in an organization must adhere to ethical standards and hard work because their subordinates emulate their behavior. For example, if a CEO practices transparency, the entire company culture becomes transparent.

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains Krishna's advice to Arjuna about the importance of setting a righteous example for society through one's actions.
