Instead of dwelling on past mistakes or feeling guilty, focus on gaining the right understanding to correct your path. Example: If a person has lived a life of bad habits, acquiring the knowledge of health and discipline acts as the 'boat' to lead them to a better life.

Lord Krishna explains the power of spiritual knowledge to Arjuna, and Saint Dnyaneshwar elaborates on how knowledge acts as a savior even for the greatest sinners.

In this verse, Dnyaneshwar Maharaj emphasizes that for those whose hearts are filled with the abundance of spiritual wisdom (Bodha), the 'impurity' or 'stain' of karma never touches them. Just as a pure substance cannot be easily defiled, a mind enlightened by the realization of the Self remains detached from the results of actions. The sense of doership (Ahankara) is dissolved in the light of knowledge, making the individual free from the cycle of cause and effect. They act in the world, yet remain as untouched as a lotus leaf in water.

Perform your duties with a sense of detachment. For example, if a student studies for the sake of learning rather than just worrying about the rank, the stress of the result (karma) does not affect their mental peace.

Saint Dnyaneshwar describes the state of a liberated soul who remains untouched by the bonds of action due to the dawn of self-knowledge.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes that the path of renunciation (Sannyasa) and the path of selfless action (Yoga) are essentially the same. Although they may appear as two different methods to a superficial observer or someone with limited spiritual understanding, their ultimate destination and essence are identical. The distinction is only perceived by those who have not yet attained the depth of wisdom to see the non-dual nature of these spiritual practices.

In daily life, understand that whether you are performing a professional duty or a spiritual practice, if done without attachment to results, both lead to the same growth. Example: Helping a stranger without expecting recognition is as spiritually significant as formal meditation.
