Therefore, for the sake of social stability and to provide a righteous path for others, one must remain active in their prescribed duties.

For example, if a business venture fails, instead of sinking into depression like one who doesn't understand the cycles of life, one should analyze the situation objectively and move forward without being paralyzed by grief.

After explaining the immortality of the soul, Saint Dnyaneshwar advises Arjuna to abandon his grief which stems from ignorance.

The term 'Manodharme' suggests that the action should not be mechanical but should stem from a place of inner conviction and purity. According to Dnyaneshwari, performing one's natural and appropriate duties without attachment to the results is the highest form of spiritual practice (Parama Dharma).
