💡 Meaning

Arjuna, both renunciation and the yoga of action are capable of leading to liberation; however, the yoga of action is superior to the renunciation of action.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

Saint Dnyaneshwar elucidates that while both Sanyasa (the path of knowledge/renunciation) and Karma Yoga (the path of selfless action) lead to the same ultimate goal of liberation, Karma Yoga is deemed superior for the seeker. The physical abandonment of action is difficult and often leads to hypocrisy if the mind is not ready. In contrast, performing one's duties without attachment to the results purifies the mind and leads to the same state of realization more naturally and effectively.

🎯 Practical Application

In modern life, instead of running away from challenges or duties, one should face them with a sense of service and detachment from the outcome. For example, a student should focus on learning and mastering a subject rather than just obsessing over grades.

📌 Context

Lord Krishna compares the path of renunciation with the path of selfless action to guide Arjuna on which is better.

According to Dnyaneshwari, performing one's natural and appropriate duties without attachment to the results is the highest form of spiritual practice (Parama Dharma). It is the most effective way to live a balanced and righteous life.

🎯 Practical Application

In a professional setting, if an employee focuses on delivering quality work with integrity rather than just working for the paycheck, they are applying the principle of 'Uchite Karma' (appropriate action) with 'Manodharma' (sincerity).
