💡 Meaning

Therefore, those who abandon external sensory objects and undoubtedly become steady within their own Self are the realized ones.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes the necessity of internal stability for spiritual progress. He explains that sensory objects pull the mind outward, creating distraction and doubt. A true seeker is one who discards these external dependencies and becomes 'Nihsanshay' (doubtless) regarding their true nature. By turning the consciousness inward and anchoring it in the 'Atman' (Self), one attains a state of permanent peace that is unaffected by the external world.

🎯 Practical Application

In modern life, practicing mindfulness by ignoring digital distractions to focus on inner growth or a specific task is a practical application of this teaching.

📌 Context

Saint Dnyaneshwar describes the internal state of a yogi who has achieved equanimity by detaching from the material world.

सवेंचि Adverb

💡 Meaning

By constantly thinking about sensory objects, an attachment is formed in the mind. From that attachment, intense desire or craving is born.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar describes the psychological chain reaction of human downfall. It begins with 'Smriti' or 'Chintan' (contemplation) of sensory objects. When the mind repeatedly dwells on an object, it develops a liking or attachment (Abhilasha). This attachment soon intensifies into 'Kama' (craving or lust). The saint warns that the root of all bondage lies in the initial thought process, emphasizing that mental discipline starts with controlling what we dwell upon.

🎯 Practical Application

To avoid falling into bad habits, one must control the initial thought. For example, if someone wants to quit social media addiction, they should stop scrolling through related content, as the mere sight or thought of it triggers the urge to use it again.

📌 Context

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the psychological process of how the mind gets trapped in worldly desires through mere contemplation.

💡 Meaning

Just as the ocean remains steady and does not overflow despite being filled by rivers, a person whose mind remains calm despite the entry of desires is truly wise.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

Dnyaneshwar Maharaj illustrates the state of a 'Sthitaprajna' (one with steady wisdom). Just as the ocean remains undisturbed and does not overflow despite being filled by numerous rivers from all sides, a wise person remains calm and unaffected even when various desires or external sensory objects enter their mind. Their inner peace is absolute and independent of external circumstances.

🎯 Practical Application

In daily life, maintain composure like the ocean when faced with criticism or stress. For example, staying calm during a high-pressure meeting instead of reacting impulsively.

📌 Context

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the stability of a realized soul using the metaphor of an ocean.
