In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar elucidates the mystery of divine incarnation. He explains that the Supreme Reality is 'Aja' (unborn) and 'Avyaya' (immutable). Unlike ordinary beings who are forced into birth by the fruits of their past actions (Karma), the Lord assumes a form by His own will. He presides over His 'Prakriti' (the creative power or Maya) to manifest in the material world. This manifestation is a divine play (Lila) intended for the restoration of cosmic order, where the Lord remains the master of Maya rather than being its subject.

Recognize that your true essence is eternal and beyond the temporary changes of life. Example: Just as an actor plays a role without forgetting their true identity, perform your daily duties with excellence without getting lost in the ego of the persona.

According to this verse, any wisdom or practice that cleanses the heart of ego, desire, and impurities is the only thing worthy of being called 'Jnana' (Knowledge). It emphasizes that the result of true learning must be a pure and steady mind.

In modern life, we are flooded with information, but true knowledge is what improves our character. For example, if learning about environmental protection leads you to actually reduce waste, that practical change is the sign of true knowledge purifying your intent.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar illustrates the concept of 'Nishkama Karma' (selfless action). He uses the analogy of the sun, which illuminates the entire world but remains untouched by the actions happening in that light. The sun provides light naturally without any sense of possession or ego. Similarly, a wise person performs all necessary duties and actions required by their station in life, but they do not let the ego of 'I am the doer' touch their consciousness. Since there is no attachment to the results or the pride of action, these deeds do not bind the individual to the cycle of karma.

In daily life, perform your duties (like studying, working, or helping others) without bragging about them. For example, a tree gives fruit but does not eat it itself; similarly, we should work for the welfare of others without letting success inflate our ego.
