💡 Meaning

Observe how the senses, driven by their inherent nature and strength, engage with their respective objects.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

In this verse, Dnyaneshwar Maharaj elaborates on the concept of non-doership. He explains that for a realized soul, the movement of the senses toward their respective objects (like eyes toward form or ears toward sound) is seen as a natural process of Prakriti (Nature). The enlightened person understands that 'I am not the doer'; rather, it is the senses interacting with sense-objects. This detachment allows one to remain peaceful even while being active in the world.

🎯 Practical Application

In daily life, practice mindfulness by observing your actions without being overwhelmed by the ego. For example, while eating, realize that the body is being nourished and the tongue is tasting, but maintain an inner sense of being a witness rather than just a consumer.

📌 Context

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the state of a person who has realized the truth, showing how their senses function independently of their inner peace.

💡 Meaning

Therefore, Arjuna, observe this; give up the attachment to the body and hold self-knowledge firmly in your heart.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

Saint Dnyaneshwar advises Arjuna to transcend physical attachment. Since the body is perishable and subject to change, grieving for it is futile. Instead, one should cultivate 'Atma-jnana' (Self-knowledge), which is the realization of the eternal, unchanging spirit within. By shifting focus from the temporary body to the permanent soul, one attains mental peace and spiritual liberation.

🎯 Practical Application

In daily life, we often over-identify with our physical appearance or health. While taking care of the body is necessary, being obsessed with it leads to fear of aging and death. This verse teaches us to value our inner character and wisdom over mere physical existence. For example, focusing on developing a kind personality rather than just looking good.

📌 Context

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar explains Krishna's teaching to Arjuna about the transience of the body and the importance of focusing on the eternal soul.

💡 Meaning

One who is free from expectations, has controlled their mind and self, and has abandoned all sense of possession, incurs no sin even while performing bodily actions.

🔍 Deep Interpretation

Saint Dnyaneshwar elucidates that a person who has renounced all desires and mastered their internal faculties performs actions solely for the maintenance of the physical body. Since such an individual is devoid of the egoistic sense of 'doership' and has no attachment to the results, their actions do not generate any karmic reactions or sins. This state of being is called 'Akarma' within 'Karma'.

🎯 Practical Application

In professional life, focus on the quality of your work rather than obsessing over the promotion or reward. For example, a doctor treating a patient should focus on the treatment itself rather than the fame it might bring.

📌 Context

Lord Krishna explains the state of a person who has attained spiritual wisdom and performs actions without attachment.
