In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar describes the transformative power of self-realization. When 'Avidya' (ignorance) is eradicated, the seeker realizes the fundamental oneness of all existence, leaving no room for the 'I' and 'Thou' distinction.

In practical life, this teaches us that most of our conflicts arise from ignorance and perceived differences. By seeking true understanding and looking beyond superficial labels, we can eliminate prejudice and experience unity with others.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes the dual nature of existence: the transient physical body and the eternal Soul. He advises Arjuna that since the body is destined to perish due to its material nature, one should not grieve over its inevitable end. Instead, one should focus on the Atman (Soul), which is indestructible and beyond measurement. This realization is key to performing one's duty (Dharma) without being paralyzed by emotional attachment or fear of death.

Shri Krishna explains the distinction between the perishable body and the imperishable soul to Arjuna to remove his grief.

In this verse, Arjuna admits his state of total confusion caused by emotional attachment. He confesses that his natural courage and sense of duty are clouded by delusion. He surrenders his ego to Krishna, asking for a definitive path that leads to his ultimate well-being. It marks the transition of their relationship from friends to that of a Guru and a disciple.
