In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar emphasizes the necessity of sense control. He explains that a person who does not restrain their senses is easily led astray by worldly objects. These sensual pleasures are compared to poison because, although they may seem attractive initially, they eventually destroy one's wisdom and spiritual progress. Without self-discipline, a seeker is 'robbed' of their inner peace and higher consciousness.

In modern life, if one cannot resist the constant distraction of social media (sensual object) while working, their productivity and mental peace are 'robbed'.

Lord Krishna explains to Arjuna the consequences of not controlling the senses.

In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar captures the pivotal moment of Arjuna's internal conflict. As he looks upon the Kaurava army, he doesn't see faceless enemies but his own 'Gotraja' (kinsmen). Seeing his grandfather Bhishma and teacher Drona—figures of immense respect—standing against him, Arjuna's resolve begins to waver. This highlights how emotional bonds can obscure one's path of righteousness (Dharma).

When faced with a choice between personal loyalty and professional integrity, one must learn to see beyond emotional ties to uphold justice. For example, a judge must remain impartial even if a relative is involved in a case.

Arjuna asks Krishna to place the chariot between the two armies to see who he must fight. Upon looking, he realizes he is facing his own family.

In this verse, Dnyaneshwar Maharaj interprets the profound truth that the Lord's incarnations and actions are not bound by the laws of material nature (Prakriti). Unlike ordinary beings who are born due to past karmas, the Divine manifests out of free will for the protection of Dharma. One who realizes this 'divinity' behind the Lord's actions transcends the cycle of birth and death, achieving union with the Supreme Consciousness.

Apply the concept of 'selfless action' in daily life. When you perform your duties without being attached to the results, you free yourself from mental stress and move towards inner peace.
