In this verse, Saint Dnyaneshwar uses the beautiful metaphor of the Chakora bird and the full moon. According to Indian mythology, the Chakora bird is said to live only on moonbeams. Just as the sight of the full moon brings absolute peace and joy to the Chakora, a person who has attained self-realization remains equanimous and joyful in all circumstances. Such a person sees the same divine essence in everyone and does not differentiate between people or situations, maintaining a cool and pleasant temperament like the moon.

Practice treating everyone with the same kindness, regardless of their status or your personal mood. For example, being equally polite to a service worker as you are to a high-ranking official.

Saint Dnyaneshwar explains the characteristics of a Sthitaprajna (a person of steady wisdom) who remains equanimous in all situations.

Saint Dnyaneshwar illustrates that just as the ocean remains undisturbed and stays within its boundaries despite the constant influx of river waters, a person of steady wisdom remains unperturbed by the arrival of desires. The 'Sthitaprajna' does not let external sensory attractions create mental turbulence. Their inner peace is so profound that even when desires (Kama) arise, they do not lead to action or mental agitation, keeping the individual anchored in their true self.

Since the masses tend to imitate their leaders, any lapse in the leader's conduct can lead to social degradation. Thus, a 'Samartha' (capable person) must be exemplary in their actions to ensure the common people follow a righteous path.

A leader in an organization must exhibit the values they want their team to adopt. For example, if a CEO practices transparency and punctuality, the entire company culture naturally aligns with those values.
