Jijabai was born in Sindkhed Raja to Mahalasabai and Lakhoji Jadhav. She was not just a queen but a skilled administrator and a warrior. Her life was dedicated to the dream of a free kingdom for her people.

She raised Shivaji Maharaj with stories of the Ramayana and Mahabharata, instilling values of justice, courage, and independence. She managed the administration of the Pune Jagir and presided over judicial matters in the absence of Shahaji Raje.
