PM Surya Ghar Yojana: Solar Panels for Homes at Just ₹50,000

The government has started a new scheme. In this scheme, people can install solar panels on their homes. They only need to pay ₹50,000. The government will pay the rest. This is good for the environment and reduces electricity bills.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, households with low electricity consumption can get a 3kW solar system for just ₹50,000. The government covers 70-90% of costs through subsidies. The remaining amount can be paid through agricultural/home appliance loans. This scheme aims to promote solar energy adoption.

PM Narendra Modi launched the Surya Ghar Yojana's home solar system (3kW) through a ₹50,000 upfront cost model with subsidies. Households can access loans for the remaining amount specifically for agricultural/home appliances. According to the Ministry of Finance, this initiative is projected to support India's target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
