The Health Ministry has proposed doubling the insurance cover under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The current limit of ₹5 lakh could increase to ₹10 lakh. This change will greatly benefit poor and middle-class families.                

An expert committee has recommended increasing the health insurance coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana. The current limit of ₹5 lakh is proposed to be raised to ₹10 lakh. This initiative will provide better healthcare access to vulnerable populations in rural and urban areas. The central government is reviewing this proposal.
