चालू वर्तमानकाळ

चालू वर्तमानकाळ (Present Continuous Tense) सध्या घडत असलेल्या क्रियांसाठी वापरला जातो. याची रचना: कर्ता + am/is/are + क्रियापदाचे 'ing' रूप अशी असते. 'I' साठी 'am', एकवचनी नामांसाठी 'is' आणि अनेकवचनी नामांसाठी 'are' वापरावे.

उदाहरणे

I am eating.

मी खात आहे.

am eating

She is sitting.

ती बसलेली आहे (बसण्याची क्रिया चालू आहे).

is sitting

They are waiting.
